I recently availed of the top-notch service at Evans and I must say I was quite dismayed by the outcome. They swiftly pointed out numerous faults with my bike and presented me with a hefty bill exceeding £550. However, after some haggling over prices, they nearly halved the cost for me. The most frustrating part of the ordeal was when the Evans staff mistakenly claimed that my carbon fork was damaged beyond repair. I was even compelled to sign a disclaimer insisting that the bike was unsafe to ride before leaving the store. It turned out that their assessment was completely inaccurate as the carbon fork was perfectly fine, resulting in me having to go through the hassle of returning the replacement fork I had bought. Overall, it was an unsatisfactory experience that felt like an attempt to swindle me out of my hard-earned cash. I have no intentions of returning to Evans for their services and will not be recommending them to anyone.

My experience at this bicycle store was top-notch, I must say.
I had a issue with my Specialized Emtb which I hadn't bought from Evans Cycles but that didn't seem to be a problem at all.
They were extremely professional and courteous throughout the entire process. The problem was identified, and a replacement part was ordered promptly, within a week I was back on the road.
A huge "Hats off" to Andy who kept me informed about the repair progress and provided me with some excellent unbiased advice that I truly valued.
I will definitely be bringing all my bikes to them for maintenance as I can't find fault with their level of service.
My only suggestion for Evans Cycles would be that the shop's external appearance could be improved. The faded decals on the exterior and the now removed "To Let" sign gave me the impression for years that the shop was closed or had moved elsewhere.

Upon checking the website later at home, I discovered that the item was indeed still available. STEER CLEAR - I ventured into the bicycle store to place an order for a bike and some extras. I was assured that the order had been successfully processed and, most importantly, that it would arrive in time for my child's upcoming birthday. After receiving an email confirming that the order was being prepared, there was radio silence. After two weeks, I reached out only to spend half an hour online before being told they would investigate. Another five days passed with no updates. Upon contacting them again, I was informed that the order had been canceled due to an alleged IT error on my end? Despite the initial email promising a refund within 2-5 business days, I discovered that this was not the case when I called – you must physically visit the store to obtain a refund. This intentional misrepresentation in the email appears to be a tactic to unfairly profit by withholding funds. It is dubious whether the ordered items would have ever materialized had I made the purchase online independently.
