I brought in a ring to this jeweler 2 weeks ago for dipping and resizing. It had sentimental value as it belonged to my grandmother, but wasn't very valuable. I left a £20 deposit as requested. A week later, I received a call saying the ring had cracks in the shank and the person who does the resizing didn't want to risk moving the diamonds. I agreed and consulted with my mother, who used to be a jeweller. She suggested getting a new shank and band for the ring. We visited the shop, and the lady said she would check on the pricing and get back to me (meanwhile, the £20 deposit remained on the ring).

Today, when I went to collect the ring, I was given a quote of £375, which I found quite expensive. When I asked for my refund, they mentioned keeping a fee of £4.95 for the work done. However, no work had been done on the ring at all! They even mentioned that there should be two fees of £4.95 each for different "jobs" on the ring. I was never informed about these fees during my previous visits, although I had dealt with the same woman every time. When I raised this issue, I was simply ignored. My family usually goes to Ian Gallacher for jewelry services, but we wanted to support local businesses this time. However, after this experience, I won't be returning to this shop again.

Absolutely dreadful customer service. My son-in-law was considering buying an engagement ring for my daughter from this establishment. However, following today's encounter, not a soul in my family will be gracing the threshold of this store ever again. The phrase 'they've shot themselves in the foot' springs to mind!!

This establishment is an absolute farce! I brought my ring in to have two gems replaced, paid a $20 deposit, only to be charged another $40 later on! I had already been offered a much better deal and service at another jeweler, but some people insisted Dunbar was "fantastic" (definitely not). Despite eventually fixing the ring, the jeweler managed to mess up another part of it and placed it on its side. My partner went in to address this issue (and was met with rudeness and discomfort from the staff), only for the woman to deny any wrongdoing, claiming it was already like that. I have photos proving otherwise from before she "fixed" it. A friend had a similar experience where they were told to return the following week for their item, but it took a month to retrieve it! The woman didn't even look at it for three weeks and made them feel as though it was their fault. I will certainly never set foot in that place again - it's an absolute disaster!

What a complete farce. The sizable blonde woman refused to hand over my timepiece without the slip, even though she acknowledged recognizing me from the day before. And when I finally did receive it, they couldn't even figure out how to adjust the time. Absolutely ridiculous. I might as well have gone to the local butcher for all the good it did me.

The jeweller bein' knowledgeable and friendly. He replaced a lost diamond from me great-grandmother's ring, sourcin' a diamond with the same cut as the others. I would surely recommend him for jewelry repairs. Easy parkin' nearby.

I highly recommend not paying attention to the negative reviews about this establishment as the service was absolutely amazing! They custom made my Great Grandmother's wedding ring to fit perfectly to my specifications. They made me feel at ease and understood exactly what I was looking for.
