Art + Coffee = The Alchemy Experiment

Let me just start by saying, if you ever find yourself at The Alchemy Experiment, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. It's not just your average coffee spot, it's also a hidden gem of an art gallery. And let me tell you, the fusion of these two worlds is simply magical.

The coffee is top-notch, no doubt about it. And the art? Well, let's just say it's equally impressive. But what really sets this place apart is the way they complement each other. Sipping on a perfectly brewed coffee while surrounded by stunning artwork truly elevates the whole experience.

Now, picture this: a cozy basement with a projector showcasing captivating films or art pieces, spacious tables ideal for group gatherings, delectable cakes to indulge in, and even prints of the featured art available for purchase. The atmosphere is inviting and just begs you to linger for hours on end (which I've done more times than I can count).

If I had to nitpick one tiny detail, it would be their recent policy prohibiting laptop chargers. So, make sure your devices are fully charged before settling in for a lengthy stay. Trust me, you won't want to leave once you're there.

Charming little café that also serves as an art gallery. Perfect spot for some quiet study time or to enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake. The only drawback is its compact size, so seating tends to fill up fast. Nonetheless, it's a delightful space to be in.
Bryan Wright (26/08/2025, 15:21):

Superb coffee and brilliant bug tables for getting work done. They may not stock skimmed milk, but the oat milk they offer is rather satisfactory.
Beverly Allen (12/08/2025, 07:54):
Fascinating art pieces, the seating is a bit uncomfortable, the coffee leaves something to be desired. However, the cakes are absolutely delicious!
Jean Martinez (09/08/2025, 19:15):
Absolutely splendid spot in the community. The libations and delectable treats (crafted by the talented Big Bear Bakery) are simply scrumptious! The team is incredibly amiable. They offer a plethora of exceptional and reasonably priced local artwork for purchase. Additionally, they host fantastic exhibitions and events. ☺️

The Alchemy Experiment is an absolutely one-of-a-kind art gallery space. We organized an exhibition/film screening with them, and also hosted a community collage event. The team at Alchemy is fantastic and the vibe is just so cozy. Alchemy really champions the Glasgow arts scene and I can't sing their praises enough! (Photo from our exhibition launch)

Love the coffee here. Such an intriguing spot. Can't wait to check out the exhibitions. I hear they're starting with local artists, which should be quite exciting.

The prices may be a tad steep, but the quality of the coffee is consistently top-notch. During my last visit, I indulged in a delicious bacon-infused pastry that left me quite pleased. 😋
