Dear me, I must say I am terribly let down by this store deciding to solely rely on self-checkout. Especially at a place like Boots where there are plenty of enticing offers and a high influx of customers, machines simply cannot compare to the assistance of a friendly human. I used to equally divide my purchases between Boots and Superdrug, but I am so disheartened by this change that I am no longer inclined to shop at Boots. If folks were content with just an online shopping experience sans human interaction, they could easily stay home. When will stores grasp this notion? To add insult to injury, they have also revamped most of the store, introduced numerous pricey skincare brands, and made the shopping experience much less enjoyable.

I visited the beauty supply store yesterday to pick up a prescription, and a lovely young woman with gorgeous long black hair helped me. It took her a while to locate the item, and she kindly asked me to come back in 10 minutes.
When I returned after 15 minutes, she apologized and mentioned that it wasn't quite ready yet, advising me to return in another 10 minutes. I was a bit frustrated and inquired why it would take an additional 10 minutes.
Suddenly, a man with striking black wavy hair intervened abruptly, stating that the prescription was actually ready, but I had not been present earlier.
In my opinion, he should have directed his comments towards the young lady! She had failed to confirm if the item was in stock.
Although I do not know her name, she was certainly taking her time, moving at a slower pace than a snail.

I typically prefer to browse on my own in stores, but he was so warm and inviting that I couldn't resist. I left with everything I required and had to leave a review - Many thanks indeed!

It's Boots. It does what it says on the tin. I popped in to pick up my fresh pair of glasses. The optician and the rest of the team were absolutely lovely, and Boots' prices were top-notch. I'd definitely recommend them if you're in need of some new specs.

Update. One of the two pairs of glasses I recently got at the Boots store in Aberdeen has run into an issue with the coating on one of the lenses. Boots claims it's a scratch and suggests I buy a new lens. After wearing glasses for over 60 years, I can tell the difference between a scratch and a coating problem. Their lack of customer service in this situation means Boots has lost a loyal customer for good. Time to search for an optician with better post-purchase support!
