Exploring Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews

Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews offers a variety of services and amenities that cater to the needs of its customers. Whether you are looking for fresh produce or quick meal options, this supermarket has something for everyone.

Service Options and Amenities

One of the highlights of Morrisons is its diverse service options which include delivery, in-store pick-up, and no-contact delivery for those who prefer a safer shopping experience. The café offers a great selection of meals, making it an ideal spot for a quick visit. However, recent feedback suggests that the service speed can be improved to reduce waiting times for food orders. Additionally, Morrisons features a pharmacy and toilet facilities, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet for those in need. The wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park further enhance the supermarket's commitment to accessibility.

Quality of Produce

Customers have praised the store for its great produce, particularly in the fresh fruit and vegetable section. While some shoppers have reported issues with misleading labels (like green bananas labeled as ready to eat), these instances seem to be rare. Overall, the selection includes local and exotic products, offering a broad range of choices to meet different culinary preferences.

Payment and Customer Experience

Morrisons supports various payment methods, including debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments, ensuring convenience at checkout. Despite some positive reviews about friendly cashiers, many customers have voiced concerns over the crowded self-service checkouts and the lack of sufficient staff during peak hours. This has led to longer waiting times, causing frustration among shoppers.

Catering to the Community

Morrisons aims to be an LGBTQ+ friendly space and has made efforts to create a transgender safe space within its premises. Additionally, it encourages recycling initiatives, especially regarding its packaging practices. However, many customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of plastic bags used for produce and have urged the store to consider more sustainable alternatives.

Dining Experience

The café inside Morrisons usually receives mixed reviews. While some enjoy the affordable meals and the clean environment, others have reported stale food and slow service. Suggestions have been made for improvements in cleanliness and food freshness to enhance the dining experience.

Final Thoughts

In summary, Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews provides a wide array of offerings for daily grocery needs, alongside excellent amenities like a pharmacy and café. However, challenges such as customer service speed, stock management, and accessibility for disabled shoppers are areas that need attention. Regular shoppers may find it beneficial to plan their visits during off-peak hours to enjoy a quieter shopping experience.

The prices for fuel at Morrisons in St Andrews are absolutely outrageous. They are matching the local Shell garage at 192.2 per liter of unleaded, whereas their location in Dundee is only charging 184.0 per liter. If you head over to Tesco in Cupar, you can fill up for just 1.84 per liter of unleaded. Currently, the petrol price sits at 187.00 per liter when Morrisons in Glenrothes is offering it at 174.00 per liter. That's a significant 60p per gallon cheaper! I am seriously considering relocating to Glenrothes, all because the nearest petrol station is Shell and they are gouging people with a price of 189.00 per liter.

Amazing value. The store was neat and well-organized. The staff were friendly and the young man who helped me even lifted the heavy bag of dog food into my cart without me having to ask, which was fantastic.

It was a right busy Saturday arvo.. Picked up a box of Wonky veg, looks decent, but haven't had a chance to use 'em yet. Can't blame Morrisons for the crowd of folks aimlessly wandering about, got me a tad on edge. Also popped into the café, proper good it was.
Willie Rivera (04/09/2025, 00:28):
I popped into the supermarket and I must say, the staff were absolutely lovely. Despite the main cash register being out of order, they were very attentive in guiding customers through the self-checkout system. It was much appreciated!
Willie Hill (03/09/2025, 18:40):
The coffee is absolutely brilliant, and the staff is incredibly helpful. The supermarket is huge, well-stocked, and well-organized. Plus, there is a spacious car park.
Joyce Gutierrez (02/09/2025, 09:10):
Just like you'd anticipate from a Morrison's shop, they offer a wide selection of items at very competitive prices. The store, car park, and fuel station are kept impeccably clean, adhering to all Covid guidelines. All of this is made possible by the helpful, well-organized, hard-working staff.
Elizabeth Price (31/08/2025, 19:02):
Absolutely top-notch supermarket located just outside of St Andrews, complete with a petrol station and a fabulous café. The staff are incredibly helpful and courteous. I will definitely make a return trip when I'm in the area again.
Debra Baker (31/08/2025, 10:19):
This supermarket is absolutely top-notch, stocked with all the essentials and even some more exotic goodies. They've got a great variety of baby and children's clothing, a fresh meat counter, an in-store bakery, a fantastic salad bar, a Polish section, and mouth-watering hot chicken and ribs to grab on the go. And don't forget their fantastic cafe – a real gem!
Ronald Wilson (31/08/2025, 02:59):
Fantastic store, with a vast variety of groceries and fresh produce, ample parking space, and friendly staff. Highly recommend it!
William Reed (29/08/2025, 03:04):
Well, this supermarket seems decent enough... It had a good selection of items. However, I found myself waiting for more than 10 minutes at the deli counter for service. It was a bit frustrating, especially since I noticed other staff members around who seemed unable to help as it wasn't their department.
Michelle Stewart (27/08/2025, 22:05):
The store was tidy, but prices have definitely gone up. There never seems to be enough staff at the checkouts, and I couldn't locate any floor employees to assist me in reaching an item on a high shelf. Instead, I asked some friendly Chinese students who were passing by.
Wayne Hayes (27/08/2025, 14:25):
I always manage to find what I need at this supermarket. It's never too crowded, and there are plenty of opportunities to sanitize before entering and leaving the store. The cafe is a great bonus as well.
Justin Ford (26/08/2025, 19:39):
Shopping at this supermarket has become rather costly, seems pricier than other grocery stores. The aisles are always so crowded with trolleys. Lately, the in-house bakery has been a bit disappointing. However, the quality of the butcher's meat remains top-notch.
Brittany Reed (23/08/2025, 17:02):
The café at Supermarket offers affordable and delicious coffee, ideal for young ones! There is plenty of room between tables for little ones to play before receiving prompt service. It would be wonderful if they had a small soft play area for children, as the shop is very family-friendly. They also have great offers available. Make sure to grab your Kinder Buenos individually, as they are priced the same with less packaging! 🥳...
Grace Cook (23/08/2025, 12:12):
A fantastic supermarket in St Andrews, it truly has all one could require, along with a chemist and a petrol station to boot.
Matthew White (23/08/2025, 02:05):
A modestly sized supermarket with a charming cafe and a handy petrol station on site. You can also find a convenient Costa Express machine and restroom facilities within the store.
Kenneth Collins (21/08/2025, 16:19):
Top-notch Fish and chips (with mushy peas) at a fantastic value.
The staff were delightful and accommodating.
Jack Murphy (15/08/2025, 14:54):
Fantastic grocer! Incredibly helpful, speedy, and easy to approach.
Thomas Hamilton (12/08/2025, 01:50):
I absolutely adore the concept of offering a complimentary children's meal with every adult meal purchase. However, what about us adults without little ones in tow? Is there a possibility of implementing a system where we can 'store' these meals for children in need? Kids could then come in and request a 'banked meal', or perhaps introduce a discreet code system similar to the one utilized at the Criterion Bar in St Andrews, where patrons can discreetly ask for 'Angela' if they find themselves in a challenging situation. Another idea could be allowing patrons to refer children who may benefit from receiving a nourishing meal, particularly during school breaks.
Teresa Kim (06/08/2025, 15:27):
I've been shopping at this place since it was Safeway! It's always been a dependable and handy supermarket. I just wanted to quickly mention that during my last visit, I was searching for Lily's Kitchen puppy recipe canned dog food (just one can) and couldn't locate it anywhere. I thought I might have to go to Pets at Home in Dundee or order a whole pack of six on Amazon... However, Morrisons had it in stock, so that was very convenient!
