Exploring Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews

Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews offers a variety of services and amenities that cater to the needs of its customers. Whether you are looking for fresh produce or quick meal options, this supermarket has something for everyone.

Service Options and Amenities

One of the highlights of Morrisons is its diverse service options which include delivery, in-store pick-up, and no-contact delivery for those who prefer a safer shopping experience. The café offers a great selection of meals, making it an ideal spot for a quick visit. However, recent feedback suggests that the service speed can be improved to reduce waiting times for food orders. Additionally, Morrisons features a pharmacy and toilet facilities, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet for those in need. The wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park further enhance the supermarket's commitment to accessibility.

Quality of Produce

Customers have praised the store for its great produce, particularly in the fresh fruit and vegetable section. While some shoppers have reported issues with misleading labels (like green bananas labeled as ready to eat), these instances seem to be rare. Overall, the selection includes local and exotic products, offering a broad range of choices to meet different culinary preferences.

Payment and Customer Experience

Morrisons supports various payment methods, including debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments, ensuring convenience at checkout. Despite some positive reviews about friendly cashiers, many customers have voiced concerns over the crowded self-service checkouts and the lack of sufficient staff during peak hours. This has led to longer waiting times, causing frustration among shoppers.

Catering to the Community

Morrisons aims to be an LGBTQ+ friendly space and has made efforts to create a transgender safe space within its premises. Additionally, it encourages recycling initiatives, especially regarding its packaging practices. However, many customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of plastic bags used for produce and have urged the store to consider more sustainable alternatives.

Dining Experience

The café inside Morrisons usually receives mixed reviews. While some enjoy the affordable meals and the clean environment, others have reported stale food and slow service. Suggestions have been made for improvements in cleanliness and food freshness to enhance the dining experience.

Final Thoughts

In summary, Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews provides a wide array of offerings for daily grocery needs, alongside excellent amenities like a pharmacy and café. However, challenges such as customer service speed, stock management, and accessibility for disabled shoppers are areas that need attention. Regular shoppers may find it beneficial to plan their visits during off-peak hours to enjoy a quieter shopping experience.

Fantastic selection of food at the cafe and a wide variety of products at the supermarket! Highly recommended.
Megan Cooper (04/07/2025, 08:17):
The supermarket was spotless and impeccably organized to assist customers during this ongoing Covid situation. Surprisingly peaceful for a Monday afternoon. The staff were extremely helpful in locating the items I was after. The variety of products available at reasonable prices, along with numerous discounts, was impressive.
Angela Gonzalez (04/07/2025, 07:21):
Definitely worth the hike up to Morrison's from the town center. They've got a wide variety of products, including a fishmonger and deli counter. The social distancing measures they have in place also make shopping much more pleasant compared to the smaller supermarkets in town.

No Trollies. They are scattered all over the shelters. It was pouring with rain and some elderly customers really struggled to find one to shop with. I decided not to shop there and went to Aldi instead. I couldn't find anyone to collect Trollies, but they were able to provide security at the door.

Calm and conveniently located, but don't count on getting breakfast. Every time I've visited, I've had to wait in line for 10-15 minutes, only to be informed that the delivery hasn't arrived and I couldn't get what I was looking for!
Deborah Russell (30/06/2025, 14:57):
This cafe is absolutely splendid, with a truly delightful and welcoming staff. I must say, I have had inferior experiences at establishments boasting five stars! I will definitely return, as a certain towering robot from the future once famously said. Do visit – you won't regret it! Cheers!

I tend to do the majority of my shopping at ALDI because the prices are unbeatable. However, I do occasionally visit Morrisons for items that I can't find at ALDI. It seems like a common shopping pattern as I often spot the same people at both stores. While Morrisons offers a wide selection of products, I find their prices to be on the higher side. Nonetheless, I always keep an eye out for their special deals and offers!
Jose Kim (29/06/2025, 22:50):
There seems to be an abundance of plastic packaging on the fruits and vegetables, and a noticeable absence of local products. Lemons all the way from New Zealand and sweet potatoes from the USA? Let's make a concerted effort to support local and UK farmers! It's important for a supermarket to prioritize sustainability ♻️…
Chloe Phillips (29/06/2025, 16:41):
Amazing grub. Always piping hot and presentation is top-notch. Quick service and great bang for your buck. The staff is always delightful. Simply scrumptious.
Samuel Myers (29/06/2025, 06:45):
I popped into the supermarket café for a spot of lunch earlier today. Opted for the kids' chicken nuggets and chips (don't judge, wasn't too peckish). The first table I headed to was a tad dirty and hadn't been tidied up, had to find another spot. When my grub arrived, couldn't find any vinegar, salt, or ketchup. Had to ask at the counter to get them. Finally got to tuck in, but the chicken tasted a bit off. Chips were decent, though. All in all, the café was just about okay.
Sean Parker (28/06/2025, 09:30):
I arranged a click and collect. No hassle at all. All the items were available and conveniently located for pick up.
Gregory Watson (27/06/2025, 09:34):
The store can be a tad cramped with all the displays, but it's decent for picking up groceries. The checkouts do tend to be a bit sluggish since there aren't many staff on duty. On the bright side, they do have a fair amount of self-service checkouts available.
Grace Gomez (27/06/2025, 05:38):
It's all that you'd reckon for. Decent deals on premium booze brands. Not quite as competitive on food prices as Lidl. Superb team, though.
Martha Hamilton (26/06/2025, 17:15):
I was absolutely gobsmacked, fuming, and gutted when I received my mail today - a bloody parking ticket of £100 for lingering too long at Morrisons cafe! I rang up the Morrisons Helpline straight away, and they told me to pop back to the in-store Customer Services. The lad there was an absolute gem - calmed me down with kindness and understanding AND sorted out the ticket for me. He even gave me tips on how to steer clear of this situation in the future. Cheers to St. Andrews Morrisons for their top-notch service!
Bradley Watson (25/06/2025, 13:40):
Great value for money, items are easy to locate, and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
Allison Brooks (22/06/2025, 18:52):
Lovely selection and even lovelier prices! I was passing by the reduced section when I heard someone say, "£2 for minced meat, isn't that a bargain?" Definitely planning to revisit for the student banter alone!
Gabriel Brown (22/06/2025, 11:33):
Great store, but the checkout time is truly laughable. The employees are trying their best, but they surely need more registers open! Management, please take control of the situation!!!
Ronald Nguyen (22/06/2025, 10:45):
A superior supermarket, indeed. One of the rare few that boasts a café, and a rather sizable one at that. The selection and quality surpass those of its competitors, with prices roughly on par, albeit slightly higher on certain items. However, the enhanced shopping experience makes it well worth the extra spend.
Nancy Taylor (22/06/2025, 09:40):
Fair enough shop, but it did feel a tad cramped on the way out. I'd dread being in there during a fire 🔥 - who knows how we'd all manage to escape.
Cynthia Cruz (20/06/2025, 06:04):
Quite unwelcoming!!! The senior staff never seem happy or engaging. The place always looks cluttered with promotions blocking access to the aisles. It has really gone downhill over the past couple of years, and don't even get me started on the ridiculous price of petrol here.
