I had a click and collect experience today at the toy store. I walked up to the desk and there was no waiting, which was a positive start.
However, the older lady who helped me was quite rude. She was busy putting items away when I mentioned that I was there to pick up my order. She asked for a barcode, but I only had an order number. She then told me that the barcode was in my email and asked me to read out the number for her after. It was a bit frustrating.
Overall, the service was not great, and I can only give it 2 stars. The only saving grace was the lack of a queue. 🤦♀️

I just wanted to share my experience with Smyths Toy Store in Aberdeen today. My daughter accidentally left her favorite black lab toy behind when we were there buying a new bike. I called the store and spoke with a very helpful gentleman named Stephen, who I believe is the manager. He quickly checked with his staff and within 5 minutes he called me back to let me know they had found it. When my husband went to pick it up, they also gave my daughter some free Lego pieces, which was such a kind gesture as she was very upset at the idea of losing her little toy dog.
I am so grateful for their efficient and caring service. They truly saved me from a sleepless night, and for that, I am extremely thankful.

The shop is absolutely fantastic, stocked with toys for every age group. However, when I popped in today to pick up some Christmas presents for our little ones, I have to say I didn't quite get into the festive spirit. It was rather disappointing for a toy store. Nevertheless, we will be making a purchase regardless, and that was certainly evident in this establishment!

Picked up a bike for me 3-year-old lad. There was already a customer chatting with a salesman in the bike aisle. I waited patiently for 2-3 minutes until the chap called over another staff member. No bother, I reckon he thought he could wrap up with the other customer sooner.
Trevor greeted us, a proper gent he was, and showed us three bikes that were just right. Top-notch experience all around.

I called them because one of the items I received had a broken part. The store couldn't have been more helpful. I went to collect the replacement item and once again, the staff were fantastic - friendly and polite. It's rare to find such great customer service these days, especially in big stores.

I absolutely adore this shop, and I make sure to visit every week to purchase some Pokémon cards. However, my friends and I were recently informed that we are banned from the store due to suspicions of theft. It's quite disheartening because collectively, we've spent over £160 on Pokémon cards there. About a month ago, a friend of a friend joined us at the store. He has autism and didn't have any money, so he took a pack of cards and opened it without our knowledge. When the manager kindly approached us, we left immediately. Since then, we've made it a point to open packs outside to avoid making a mess inside the store. Smyths, we sincerely hope you'll reconsider and allow us to continue purchasing Pokémon cards from your store.
