Received a full kilt outfit from Hendersons for my 21st birthday 15 years ago and it's still in top condition. I recently popped in again to buy a new, more modern argyle jacket and was swiftly measured by the same lovely lady who measured me 15 years ago! I've been residing in Stirling for a good 8 years now, yet somehow I never found myself in this kilt shop until yesterday. I made my way in for the very first time to hire a kilt jacket, and let me tell you, the young lad who assisted me was an absolute gem. Polite, incredibly helpful, and he just made me feel right at home. I'd previously had an unpleasant experience at Slaters where the staff were quite rude and they had very limited stock. Rest assured, I will most certainly be returning to this shop again! A solid 5-star rating from me.

I popped into this shop a few weeks back with my missus. I was on the lookout for a pair of tartan trousers. Wasn't planning on leaving a review, but something's been gnawing at me ever since.
I've been eyeing up a kilt and thought I'd test the waters with their service before splashing out. Well, that idea flew out the window after what went down! The lad who helped me was alright, but the bloke running the show seemed to dismiss me right off the bat. I had on a pair of garish walking trousers and, yes, I wasn't exactly dressed to the nines, but that shouldn't matter, right? I found a pair I fancied, but they were a tad too long. Instead of offering a solution, the guy just shrugged and showed me the door. I genuinely liked those trousers and they just needed a bit of tweaking at the hem. Not sure if they do alterations there, but I noticed they do bespoke suits. He didn't even bother suggesting an adjustment or pointing me to a nearby place for alterations.
His responses were always curt and unhelpful. Truth be told, I'm still smarting from the whole ordeal. I'm quite timid, and his demeanor really dented my confidence when it comes to stepping into another kilt shop. Clearly not their usual clientele, as his vibe made us feel like outsiders in their shop.
If the experience had been better, I'd have seriously considered investing in a bespoke kilt with all the trimmings.

Ah, well now, this kilt shop might not be the best bet if you're after a traditional kilt at a decent price. Seems like it caters more to the tourist crowd, especially our American friends on the hunt for souvenirs. If you're after a proper kilt shopping experience, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. As for me, a Scot who's visited his fair share of kilt shops, this one left a lot to be desired. Customer service? Don't even get me started. My advice? Give this place a miss, laddie!

Lewis and his team did a smashing job fitting kilts for me and 15 mates at my wedding not too long ago. He's a top bloke, proper attentive with a keen eye for detail.
We flew in all the way from Australia and the whole shebang was a right laugh, spot on professional it was.
The shop is tidy as can be, with quality gear on show to buy.
