It's absolutely unacceptable. The number of individuals purchasing that dry, unappetizing kibble for their pets is staggering. If you're resorting to feeding your pet dry food, then you shouldn't even have an animal, period.

Only raw food for your dogs and cats 🏴

Absolutely appalling experience at Pets at Home today! I was looking to purchase a pet but because I found a cage and equipment elsewhere at a better price, they refused to sell me one. Their prices are outrageous and the fact that they penalize customers for finding better deals elsewhere is unacceptable. Definitely the worst pet store I've ever come across.
Alice Hughes (26/08/2025, 18:18):
I popped into the pet store the other day to pick up some locusts, and I noticed that all the tubs at the front only had 3 or 4 live locusts in them. I brought this up with a staff member, who said they would look into it later. Interestingly, the tubs at the back had more than 7 locusts in each one. I found it a bit strange that I was charged full price for only 3 locusts when there were clearly more available in the back. The person who was helping me mentioned that all the locusts had just arrived fresh that day.

Once again, an excellent range of food treats and accessories for all types of pets. The staff is professional and friendly, always ready to assist with any issue. Their willingness to help out is truly remarkable!
Anna Anderson (22/08/2025, 16:45):
The staff be all lovely and the vet surgery be top-notch. Never had a problem with them, but best be steerin' clear of the groomers. They be chargin' a pretty penny, mate. Double the price of smaller groomers, they be. £10 for a nail trim when it be only £5 at most other places.
Larry Myers (21/08/2025, 22:27):
What a brilliant spot! Always spotless, even with all the folks and their four-legged companions popping in. The team is so cheerful and eager to lend a hand. The ambiance is just lovely, with staff who seem genuinely content on the job. Fully stocked every time I visit, never left wanting. A solid 10/10 all around!
Kenneth Cruz (21/08/2025, 16:05):
The folks at the pet store are top-notch. I reckon our pooch would hang out there all day if she could! The complimentary treats at the checkout are a lovely gesture.

The shop boasts an extensive range of just about everything. The dog treats, in particular, are excellent value for money.
John Hughes (19/08/2025, 13:36):
This establishment is quite lovely and boasts a wide array of provisions for various land-dwelling companions. However, I must admit that the selection of aquatic life and flora in the aquarium department is somewhat lacking and limited in diversity.
Nicholas Peterson (17/08/2025, 09:29):
I must say, this store is top-notch! The folks there are more than willing to lend a hand. My little pup has a stomach as delicate as can be, and after testing out countless foods with no luck, he's finally taken a liking to Wainwrights, as suggested by one of the staff. They took the time to chat with me about his preferences and what we'd already attempted. I'm pleased to report that the changes were almost immediate, and now we've got one contented little fella thanks to the ladies 🥰
Rachel Scott (16/08/2025, 15:25):
I cannot stress enough how lovely the staff is at this pet store, and it's evident that they truly adore animals. Every time I bring my dog in, they give her a warm welcome, making her visits enjoyable. She even looks forward to going to the vet now!
Bradley Graham (16/08/2025, 06:58):
I must say, it's becoming quite the challenge to find the Hite dog food in stock. I can spot it at a few supermarkets, but I was hoping it would be more readily available at a pet store.
Logan Foster (15/08/2025, 15:10):
I reckon I've picked up 'bout a dozen rabbits from this place in the past year, no fuss at all. They always seem to have a decent selection of rabbits and guinea pigs, and sometimes you can find 'em for free in the adoption section, but they get snatched up pretty quick, like hot cakes!
Catherine Thompson (11/08/2025, 16:21):
Great P.A.H pet store. The staff were super friendly and they had a wide variety of products available. They also had a great selection of pets for sale, with tanks and habitats in pristine condition.
Willie Howard (11/08/2025, 09:47):
A chap (didn't have a name tag and wouldn't divulge his name) who claimed to be the manager was rather unpleasant and had quite the attitude problem. He seemed quite keen on selling me a pair of rats until I mentioned that I already had a cage. Following that, he began questioning me aggressively, stating that my cage was inadequate (despite receiving confirmation from the Pets at Home head office that it was sufficient). Subsequently, he refused to proceed with the rat sale. This chap is a disgrace, and based on the reviews here, it appears to be a recurring issue.
Riley Carter (09/08/2025, 13:10):
The staff are absolutely lovely and so knowledgeable. They're hosting some informative sessions during the school Easter break about the critters they have in store. Additionally, there's a sign posted that mentions no bunnies will be available for purchase over the Easter weekend. Cheers to responsible pet ownership!
Riley Evans (08/08/2025, 20:11):
Brought my pup to this place while she was going through cancer treatments. The staff was incredibly friendly and so helpful. I'll always remember how much they supported us throughout my dog's diagnosis and beyond. These guys are simply amazing.
Martha Bailey (08/08/2025, 03:36):
Great value, the staff are friendly and professional, and it's perfect for pet owners since everything is conveniently located in one spot... from the veterinarian services to the grooming area, and a shop well-stocked with all the essentials for every type of pet.
Justin Johnson (03/08/2025, 20:15):
There's an abundance of pet supplies at great prices. The staff is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. Once more, I've left completely satisfied.
Nicholas Wilson (02/08/2025, 06:44):
The vets and nurses here are absolutely lovely, I must say! And let's not forget about the staff on the shop floor - always so friendly and helpful. Such a wonderful experience every time I visit this pet store.
Judy Ford (01/08/2025, 22:49):
I must say, I was rather let down by the service provided to us today at the pet store. It was supposed to be a special occasion as we were taking our children to choose their first pet. However, the staff didn't seem very welcoming and instead made us feel rushed to quickly make our selections and leave the shop. This definitely wasn't the exciting and enjoyable experience we had envisioned for the kids. In fact, they ended up feeling quite stressed by the whole ordeal.

While I understand that we are slowly transitioning out of lockdown, I couldn't help but feel that the level of pressure from the staff was a bit excessive. It's not a memory that I think my children will fondly look back on, unlike my own cherished memories of getting my first pet.

Despite purchasing everything we needed for our new hamster, including the cage, I seriously considered leaving the store within just five minutes of being there. However, we didn't want to disappoint the kids. In the future, we will likely opt to visit a different store for a more pleasant experience.
