Morrisons Airdrie: A Comprehensive Overview of Offerings and Amenities

Morrisons in Airdrie stands out as one of the few supermarkets in the area that still offers a traditional deli and butcher/fish counter. However, while the offerings are commendable, customers have noted an increase in prices—sometimes up to 25% higher than competitors like Tesco and Asda.

Great Produce and Shopping Experience

Despite pricing concerns, many patrons praise the great produce available at Morrisons. The store features a spacious fruit and vegetable section and a diverse range of other groceries. Shoppers appreciate the cleanliness and organization within the store, making it easier for a quick visit.

Accessibility and Amenities

Morrisons is designed with accessibility in mind, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, wheelchair-accessible car park, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. This ensures that all customers can navigate the supermarket comfortably. Additionally, the layout of the aisles allows for easy movement, although some shoppers have noted that busy times can make navigation challenging.

Payment Options and Service

The store accommodates various payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility makes transactions convenient for all customers. There are also options for in-store pick-up and no-contact delivery, catering to the changing needs of today's shoppers.

Community and Inclusivity

Morrisons Airdrie has made strides in being a transgender safe space and LGBTQ+ friendly. This commitment to inclusivity helps foster a welcoming environment for all customers. Nonetheless, some staff interactions have raised concerns about customer service and attentiveness, suggesting a need for ongoing training for employees.

Food Quality and Safety Concerns

While the selection is generally praised, there have been reports of expired products on shelves, leading to customer frustration. Shoppers have urged the management to improve their stock checking, especially for items such as sandwiches and ready meals. Ensuring food quality is vital to maintaining customer trust.

Dining Experience at the Café

The café within Morrisons has received mixed reviews. Some customers have enjoyed the affordable meals, like the afternoon tea special, while others have reported issues with cleanliness and food quality. Brenda, a member of the café staff, has been highlighted positively for her exceptional service, demonstrating how good staff can enhance the dining experience.

Recycling and Eco-Friendliness

Morrisons has shown commitment to sustainability through its recycling initiatives. Glass bottles are recycled, and shoppers are encouraged to adopt environmentally-friendly practices during their visits. However, there is still room for improvement in creating a fully eco-conscious shopping experience.

Final Thoughts and Planning Your Visit

In summary, Morrisons Airdrie offers a unique blend of traditional supermarket elements with a focus on great produce and community values. While there are areas that need addressing, such as pricing and food quality, the supermarket remains a solid choice for those seeking variety in their shopping experience. Whether you're planning a quick visit or a weekly shop, Morrisons provides essential service options that cater to a diverse customer base.

I popped into the café for a bite to eat, only to find that they were out of most things, as per usual! It's quite perplexing that they can't just grab some items from the supermarket next door. The poor staff are left dealing with annoyed and hungry customers. I recall when the store used to be bustling with activity. It's no wonder they're losing customers.

Costly, the staff could benefit from some additional training in customer service, and if you decide to purchase their "too good to go" bags, oh my goodness, save yourself the trouble. You'll end up with 4 loaves of expired bread, a few shallots, and a few unappetizing strawberries - all three days past their expiration date, so they should have been disposed of already! On the bright side, the café isn't too shabby!

Cheaper than Tesco, innit! If they bring back the NHS discount, I'd be well chuffed to spend all me dosh there. They give us freebies that Tesco don't even 'ave! Hmmmmmmm.

This was my first visit to a supermarket since the lockdown, and I found the experience quite disappointing. I didn't have a face mask with me, and the staffing levels were noticeably low. The queues were extremely long, stretching as far back as the eye could see, and there were only a few staff members available to assist customers. Despite the great service provided by the staff on duty, there simply weren't enough of them to effectively manage the situation. As a loyal customer of over 20 years, I left feeling quite underwhelmed by the overall experience.
Evelyn Butler (26/07/2025, 12:43):
The freshness of the produce is quite dreadful! I usually do my shopping on weekends and most items have a shelf life of just one day ahead. It appears that deliveries are made at the beginning of the week. I might have to consider shopping elsewhere. Additionally, it's quite a hassle that they always restock the shelves during peak hours.
Jordan Hamilton (25/07/2025, 20:00):
This supermarket is quite good with a wide variety of products. The bakery department is top-notch, always offering fresh goods. However, it does seem to be on the pricier side compared to some other options out there.
Billy Kim (23/07/2025, 00:45):
There always seem to be loads of great deals, but I keep finding expired items in the chill cabinets. Are the dates not being checked regularly?
John Jackson (21/07/2025, 22:25):
What a splendid selection at the fish counter! Everything is so fresh and top-notch. What a delightful find!
Grace Gutierrez (21/07/2025, 06:58):
I must say, I had quite the frustrating experience at the supermarket today. After waiting for what felt like ages for assistance with a self-checkout issue, I finally decided to walk out and leave my shopping at the till. I had pressed the assistance button halfway through my transaction, and even after alerting the woman that I still needed help once I was finished, she simply acknowledged me and then went in the opposite direction.

The trouble was that the barcode just wouldn't scan, no matter what I tried. I even went to get a different pack, which scanned properly, but I still couldn't finalize my transaction. There seemed to be no way for me to manually type in the numbers either. Quite a frustrating experience, to say the least!

I 'ave a couple o' concerns, mate. The aisles are a tad narrow, and it seems to be a magnet for folks lookin' to 'ave a chinwag, blocking the way for others to get through! Plus, the interior is a bit outdated and drab, almost like somethin' out of an 80s telly show.
Alice Smith (16/07/2025, 06:48):

I popped into the loo and couldn't help but notice there was no toilet seat, just a couple of metal bars where it should be. Quite the safety concern! Not to mention the less-than-stellar cleanliness—spotted some urine on and around the toilet bowl and floor.
Kenneth Gray (10/07/2025, 18:00):
Great service. I popped in during lunchtime and the place was bustling with school kids. Surprisingly, the children were well-behaved and quiet. The staff were on the ball and really polite.
Christian Alexander (08/07/2025, 10:23):
I went to the supermarket on Saturday night and the staff were friendly and polite. The female security officer, Tracey Bowman, was also very helpful. She made my shopping experience better by assisting me with my purchases and even helping me to my car. Her assistance was greatly appreciated!
Russell King (04/07/2025, 08:29):
I went to the café for breakfast and was disappointed to find no mushrooms. The square sausages on offer were of very poor quality and the links were cheap and totally disgusting! When I went shopping, there were no trolleys available at all.
Amy Brown (03/07/2025, 02:42):
Morrisons, the recent temporary layout change is quite amusing, as it seems that one can only express their thoughts honestly about the new setup. The temporary changes seem to be limited in their functionality on the other hand, which allowed for a casual stroll. I am uncertain if there are any problems with the fries, which accompany a lovely car. I have included a photo that got me pondering, perhaps about chicken. The individual mentioned appears to be quite comical and was only briefly encountered during a walk. I am unsure about the journey back with my girlfriend.
Keith Price (29/06/2025, 12:15):
I must say, the refurbishment at Morrisons in Airdrie is long overdue, but the shopping experience was truly dreadful.

The lighting was so poor that I could barely see anything on the shelves.

There was a noticeable lack of food stocked on the shelves.

I couldn't find any staff around to ask for help or advice.

At half past nine in the morning, there were no regular checkouts open, only self-service ones. Some customers dislike them for various reasons, like concerns about job losses for locals or accessibility issues for those with disabilities.

While the staff tried to be helpful, you could sense they were completely miserable.

I think I'll be heading to Tesco instead.
Sharon Jones (27/06/2025, 08:31):
The supermarket is a decent size with a wide selection and very friendly staff. The boneless ribs in bourbon sauce are absolutely phenomenal. The floral and plant section is lovely as well. I just popped in quickly, but managed to find everything I needed.
Doris Martinez (23/06/2025, 08:00):
I don't make a habit of shopping here, but I popped in to pick up a particular item that they exclusively carry. Without fail, every time I visit, the staff are terribly glum and have even been outright rude on occasions. What on earth is management up to that's leading the staff to act this way? It wouldn't hurt to treat your employees with a bit more kindness, now would it?
Emily Taylor (21/06/2025, 04:40):
This superstore is top-notch, very tidy and organized, but a bit on the pricey side. The parking lot has plenty of spaces, but watch out - if you come back within 3 hours, you'll get slapped with a hefty £60 fine. It happened to me! I was furious and vowed never to set foot in that place again. I used to spend over a hundred pounds a week there. Now I stick to Tesco, ever since they installed their cameras. Tesco all the way for me now.
