Morrisons Airdrie: A Comprehensive Overview of Offerings and Amenities

Morrisons in Airdrie stands out as one of the few supermarkets in the area that still offers a traditional deli and butcher/fish counter. However, while the offerings are commendable, customers have noted an increase in prices—sometimes up to 25% higher than competitors like Tesco and Asda.

Great Produce and Shopping Experience

Despite pricing concerns, many patrons praise the great produce available at Morrisons. The store features a spacious fruit and vegetable section and a diverse range of other groceries. Shoppers appreciate the cleanliness and organization within the store, making it easier for a quick visit.

Accessibility and Amenities

Morrisons is designed with accessibility in mind, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, wheelchair-accessible car park, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. This ensures that all customers can navigate the supermarket comfortably. Additionally, the layout of the aisles allows for easy movement, although some shoppers have noted that busy times can make navigation challenging.

Payment Options and Service

The store accommodates various payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility makes transactions convenient for all customers. There are also options for in-store pick-up and no-contact delivery, catering to the changing needs of today's shoppers.

Community and Inclusivity

Morrisons Airdrie has made strides in being a transgender safe space and LGBTQ+ friendly. This commitment to inclusivity helps foster a welcoming environment for all customers. Nonetheless, some staff interactions have raised concerns about customer service and attentiveness, suggesting a need for ongoing training for employees.

Food Quality and Safety Concerns

While the selection is generally praised, there have been reports of expired products on shelves, leading to customer frustration. Shoppers have urged the management to improve their stock checking, especially for items such as sandwiches and ready meals. Ensuring food quality is vital to maintaining customer trust.

Dining Experience at the Café

The café within Morrisons has received mixed reviews. Some customers have enjoyed the affordable meals, like the afternoon tea special, while others have reported issues with cleanliness and food quality. Brenda, a member of the café staff, has been highlighted positively for her exceptional service, demonstrating how good staff can enhance the dining experience.

Recycling and Eco-Friendliness

Morrisons has shown commitment to sustainability through its recycling initiatives. Glass bottles are recycled, and shoppers are encouraged to adopt environmentally-friendly practices during their visits. However, there is still room for improvement in creating a fully eco-conscious shopping experience.

Final Thoughts and Planning Your Visit

In summary, Morrisons Airdrie offers a unique blend of traditional supermarket elements with a focus on great produce and community values. While there are areas that need addressing, such as pricing and food quality, the supermarket remains a solid choice for those seeking variety in their shopping experience. Whether you're planning a quick visit or a weekly shop, Morrisons provides essential service options that cater to a diverse customer base.

It's alright, definitely better grub than Tesco, although there are a few staff members who seem a bit clueless, but oh well.

The café food leaves something to be desired. The breakfast is bland and often not cooked just right.

However, the selection of cakes and treats is top-notch.

The self-serve coffee machine doesn't make the greatest cup of joe.

It's a handy spot if you're out shopping, but probably not worth making a special trip just for the café.

I popped into this lovely café in Airdrie and was absolutely delighted by the wonderful service provided by a charming lady named Brenda. Her pleasant demeanor left me leaving with a big smile on my face. It was also heartwarming to see other customers come in and appreciate Brenda's cheerful attitude. She is truly an invaluable asset to your establishment, and I will most definitely be returning soon.

Food counters! To me, that's what sets apart an average supermarket from a top-notch one. It might sound simple, but having food counters really elevates the shopping experience. Deli, pizza, fish, and meat counters are all available, along with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables (although the nearby Tesco can sometimes be a bit dull).
The staff here are generally friendly and helpful, with only one grumpy encounter to date.
I wouldn't give it a 5-star rating just yet because I'm still figuring out if their prices are higher than what I'm used to, the parking situation is not as convenient, and the aisles feel a bit cramped and busy (I avoid shopping here when I have a headache as it can be quite chaotic).
I hope this feedback is useful.

I must say, the selection of fruits and vegetables at this supermarket is always lacking. The prices displayed on the shelves rarely match what's actually in stock. When it comes to fresh produce, Aldi tends to be about 30% cheaper on average. As someone who consumes a significant amount of fruits and veggies, this is quite disappointing.

The overall inventory is subpar, often resulting in me not being able to find several items on my grocery list each week. The canned goods are typically quite banged up, with around 90% of them showing damage.

I frequently encounter a shortage of Echo Falls Rose wine, it seems to be perpetually out of stock. Additionally, the checkout lines are consistently long, indicating a need for more staff to expedite the process.

Ultimately, I find myself having to visit Tesco or Aldi to complete my shopping as a result of these issues. The only reason we continue to patronize this store is due to my wife's preference. However, if she ever decides to make a switch, we'll be taking our business elsewhere.

I would appreciate hearing your perspective on these matters. Thank you.

The one and only supermarket in our neck of the woods with a functioning deli and butcher/fish counter. However, blimey, they've gone and upped their prices!! Nearly had a heart attack at the checkout!! A solid 20-25% pricier than Tesco or Asda, and a whopping 30% more than Lidl or Aldi.
Anthony Baker (06/06/2025, 21:01):
The café presents an amazing offer on afternoon tea for only £3.
Walter Morris (04/06/2025, 10:56):
I generally fancy Morrisons, but this particular store didn't quite hit the mark for me. I found the aisles to be rather cramped. On the bright side, the cafe was quite decent though.
Patrick Sanders (04/06/2025, 06:40):
The first time I visited your café, I had to wait for the fish, which wasn't salted and lacked vinegar. However, the staff did a great job of resolving the issue and apologized for it, which was completely fine. Their customer service skills were commendable in rectifying the situation.
Edward Brown (03/06/2025, 11:53):
Ever since the store got a makeover, I find myself gravitating towards Morrisons over the other shops in Airdrie. Their exclusive product lines are top-notch, and having a butcher and fish counters is a huge bonus. Great prices and an all-around enjoyable shopping trip.
Angela Patterson (01/06/2025, 12:20):
A fantastic supermarket chain, with pristine and top-quality produce 👌 ...
Karen Russell (01/06/2025, 06:25):
Breakfast was an absolute disaster. The tables were all filthy and hadn't been cleaned the entire time I was in the cafe. The potato scones were burnt to a crisp, so tough you couldn't even cut through them. The staff were incredibly unhelpful, especially considering it was my first visit. I wasn't even told where to find cutlery or condiments. It was a truly disappointing experience.
Sean Morales (31/05/2025, 20:09):
I popped into the supermarket this morning, and I must say, the prices were quite reasonable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It's not often you come across service like this, second to none!
Denise Sanders (28/05/2025, 08:15):
Absolutely smashing store with top-notch deals!
Gerald Brown (27/05/2025, 09:38):
Stopped by the store this morning with my wife to order breakfast, only to be told by a staff member that they were out of bacon. Surprising, considering the large selection of bacon on the shelves that could have been used if it was a franchise café. Disappointing experience overall, but the staff was still quite pleasant.
Doris Richardson (24/05/2025, 17:21):
I 'ave decided to cease shoppin' 'ere. I simply cannot, in good conscience, endorse a business that discriminates against its employees based on their medical situation. Forcin' yer staff to survive on a mere £96 per week because of their personal medical decisions is truly unethical.
Douglas Cox (23/05/2025, 07:01):
Well, I must say, my experience at this supermarket was rather disappointing. I popped in to pick up some potatoes and lo and behold, there wasn't a single spud in sight. It seems like they never stock what you're looking for. Needless to say, I won't be returning anytime soon.
Harold Gonzalez (23/05/2025, 03:23):
Amazing store. Absolutely adore the make-your-own pizza option and the nachos are simply top-notch. Such incredible value for money! Cheers!
Amanda Hughes (22/05/2025, 00:14):
Visited the petrol station and the staff member was too engrossed in their phone to acknowledge my presence, let alone assist me. Two weeks later, I returned to the store and noticed that the staff were not wearing face masks.
Jerry Watson (21/05/2025, 03:20):
I usually do my grocery shopping at Morrisons as the store is consistently clean, well-stocked, and the staff are incredibly helpful.

Just last week, my 6-year-old son was on the hunt for microwave popcorn and couldn't locate them. I approached two girls at the cold meat counter, where a kind lady named Tracy had helped me before, to ask if they knew where the popcorn might be. Evelyn Mooney and Niamh Jones had a quick chat and without hesitation, Evelyn left her post at the counter to personally guide me to the correct aisle. It truly felt like she went above and beyond!

During our shopping trip today, my son spotted the children's scanning area near the checkout, but we were already in another line. The delightful Patricia Mckoldrick noticed his interest and kindly invited my son to scan "his food" at her register. The look on his face was priceless! (And once again, I didn't even have to ask.)

I am incredibly thankful for the consistently positive experiences we have with ALL the staff at Airdrie Morrisons.
Billy Sanchez (20/05/2025, 18:52):
Great store with a good selection, but prices are starting to hike up so much that I'm thinking of going elsewhere. Update - 20/06/22 Prices have skyrocketed and I've also noticed a few items missing from the shelves.
