Exploring Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews

Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews offers a variety of services and amenities that cater to the needs of its customers. Whether you are looking for fresh produce or quick meal options, this supermarket has something for everyone.

Service Options and Amenities

One of the highlights of Morrisons is its diverse service options which include delivery, in-store pick-up, and no-contact delivery for those who prefer a safer shopping experience. The café offers a great selection of meals, making it an ideal spot for a quick visit. However, recent feedback suggests that the service speed can be improved to reduce waiting times for food orders. Additionally, Morrisons features a pharmacy and toilet facilities, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet for those in need. The wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park further enhance the supermarket's commitment to accessibility.

Quality of Produce

Customers have praised the store for its great produce, particularly in the fresh fruit and vegetable section. While some shoppers have reported issues with misleading labels (like green bananas labeled as ready to eat), these instances seem to be rare. Overall, the selection includes local and exotic products, offering a broad range of choices to meet different culinary preferences.

Payment and Customer Experience

Morrisons supports various payment methods, including debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments, ensuring convenience at checkout. Despite some positive reviews about friendly cashiers, many customers have voiced concerns over the crowded self-service checkouts and the lack of sufficient staff during peak hours. This has led to longer waiting times, causing frustration among shoppers.

Catering to the Community

Morrisons aims to be an LGBTQ+ friendly space and has made efforts to create a transgender safe space within its premises. Additionally, it encourages recycling initiatives, especially regarding its packaging practices. However, many customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the amount of plastic bags used for produce and have urged the store to consider more sustainable alternatives.

Dining Experience

The café inside Morrisons usually receives mixed reviews. While some enjoy the affordable meals and the clean environment, others have reported stale food and slow service. Suggestions have been made for improvements in cleanliness and food freshness to enhance the dining experience.

Final Thoughts

In summary, Morrisons Supermarket in St Andrews provides a wide array of offerings for daily grocery needs, alongside excellent amenities like a pharmacy and café. However, challenges such as customer service speed, stock management, and accessibility for disabled shoppers are areas that need attention. Regular shoppers may find it beneficial to plan their visits during off-peak hours to enjoy a quieter shopping experience.

I've been shopping at this place since it was Safeway! It's always been a dependable and handy supermarket. I just wanted to quickly mention that during my last visit, I was searching for Lily's Kitchen puppy recipe canned dog food (just one can) and couldn't locate it anywhere. I thought I might have to go to Pets at Home in Dundee or order a whole pack of six on Amazon... However, Morrisons had it in stock, so that was very convenient!

What a lovely fish and chips! I'm not from St. Andrews and just had an appointment nearby. I spotted this Morrison's and decided to give their fish and chips a try for lunch. The fish was juicy, encased in a crispy batter. The lady cooking it did her job very well. Thank you, and I might just stop by again solely for the fish.

Checkout queues are a nightmare, innit? Been standing 'ere for over 10 minutes now, and still got 3 folks in front of me. The store is packed, mate. Morrisons ought to do better, especially when they're rakin' it in during these Covid times.
Mark Ramos (29/07/2025, 10:40):
We were waiting for 25 minutes for 2 toasties, and they didn't even know their own prices as they tried to overcharge us. To top it off, they gave the vegetarian a meat meal. The staff lacked enthusiasm and were not helpful at all. We won't be returning.
Roger Kim (29/07/2025, 06:56):
Oh, they've got a fantastic range of bakery goodies, fresh fruits and veggies, a top-notch butchery section, and the clothing is always such a great deal!
Doris Evans (28/07/2025, 04:46):
This supermarket is top-notch, with a fantastic selection of fresh produce and products that will fulfill all your shopping needs.
Andrew James (26/07/2025, 16:17):
It was like stepping into a Tesco but with a twist. It had all the familiar products, just branded under Morrisons instead of Tesco. Don't bother trying to use your Clubcard there though, it's not Tesco after all. They've got trolleys and everything, just like the real deal.
David Taylor (26/07/2025, 08:12):
When ye order yer groceries from them, they never seem to get it right. They don't pay heed to yer instructions and just cancel items instead of offering substitutions. When ye try to rectify the situation by giving them a ring, ye can't seem to get through to the store at all. Ye can't even ring up to cancel if they mess up the order. Arrr!
Kathleen Ford (24/07/2025, 04:12):
A splendid supermarket with ample assortment of goods and excellent deals.
Juan Cox (17/07/2025, 13:37):
Popped in for brekkie, top-notch grub, service was alright. Shop stocked up on all the essentials too. Cheers!
Nicholas Morales (15/07/2025, 21:55):
I must say, the customer service at this establishment is simply dreadful. I found myself waiting a whopping 13 minutes before a staff member finally made an appearance at the checkout. It's a recurring issue that never seems to improve. I can't help but wonder why there isn't a dedicated team member stationed at the self-checkout area.
Mark Davis (15/07/2025, 19:34):
The service and lunch were absolutely fantastic, much better than a cafe in Edinburgh, and all for over £15 less for 4 people. The meat pies were superb, and my daughter devoured every last bite of her fish, chips, and mushy peas. Highly recommended!
Joseph Powell (13/07/2025, 10:49):
Always top-notch grub, reasonably priced and oh-so scrumptious! 😋
Gabriel Thompson (12/07/2025, 03:25):
This supermarket is quite decent, easy to find your way around, but it seems to have a shortage of staff in the aisles compared to Asda and Tesco. If you have a question or need assistance, you have to actively search for a staff member instead of easily finding someone in the aisles to help you. Besides that, the employees who are working there are friendly and accommodating. They also have a great on-site restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with good deals for both adults and children.
Michelle Simmons (11/07/2025, 09:48):
Spiffing large emporium with a jolly good selection, including a smashing halal and vegetarian section. The car park is quite the decent size, and there are loads of cashiers about. A tad steep on some items, I must say. Not at all chuffed that a lone customer was permitted to snag all the yellow stickered bread at 20p each - likely owned a shop, the cheeky blighter! On the whole, the experience was rather splendid, and the cafe top-notch and reasonably priced. Cheerio!
Juan Nguyen (11/07/2025, 09:22):
I was majorly disappointed by the absence of large mangoes at this supermarket.
Aaron Patterson (10/07/2025, 14:03):
This supermarket is an absolute disaster when it comes to getting in touch by phone. They advertise numbers that are obsolete and clearly have no interest in customers calling them. I've spent all afternoon trying to inquire about a product's availability with no success. I'm done with them, I'll take my business elsewhere!
William Moore (08/07/2025, 15:50):
Supermarkets that truly understand their customers' needs, with prices that you will simply love.
Kimberly Lewis (08/07/2025, 13:28):
This morning I had the opportunity to seek assistance from the staff at 8.30am, and they were incredibly willing and cheerful. One observation that I would like to share with Morrisons is about the ladies' restrooms. They were immaculately clean, but the flush button was quite difficult to push!
Kathryn Parker (05/07/2025, 01:10):
Fantastic selection of food at the cafe and a wide variety of products at the supermarket! Highly recommended.
