Morrisons Airdrie: A Comprehensive Overview of Offerings and Amenities

Morrisons in Airdrie stands out as one of the few supermarkets in the area that still offers a traditional deli and butcher/fish counter. However, while the offerings are commendable, customers have noted an increase in prices—sometimes up to 25% higher than competitors like Tesco and Asda.

Great Produce and Shopping Experience

Despite pricing concerns, many patrons praise the great produce available at Morrisons. The store features a spacious fruit and vegetable section and a diverse range of other groceries. Shoppers appreciate the cleanliness and organization within the store, making it easier for a quick visit.

Accessibility and Amenities

Morrisons is designed with accessibility in mind, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, wheelchair-accessible car park, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. This ensures that all customers can navigate the supermarket comfortably. Additionally, the layout of the aisles allows for easy movement, although some shoppers have noted that busy times can make navigation challenging.

Payment Options and Service

The store accommodates various payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility makes transactions convenient for all customers. There are also options for in-store pick-up and no-contact delivery, catering to the changing needs of today's shoppers.

Community and Inclusivity

Morrisons Airdrie has made strides in being a transgender safe space and LGBTQ+ friendly. This commitment to inclusivity helps foster a welcoming environment for all customers. Nonetheless, some staff interactions have raised concerns about customer service and attentiveness, suggesting a need for ongoing training for employees.

Food Quality and Safety Concerns

While the selection is generally praised, there have been reports of expired products on shelves, leading to customer frustration. Shoppers have urged the management to improve their stock checking, especially for items such as sandwiches and ready meals. Ensuring food quality is vital to maintaining customer trust.

Dining Experience at the Café

The café within Morrisons has received mixed reviews. Some customers have enjoyed the affordable meals, like the afternoon tea special, while others have reported issues with cleanliness and food quality. Brenda, a member of the café staff, has been highlighted positively for her exceptional service, demonstrating how good staff can enhance the dining experience.

Recycling and Eco-Friendliness

Morrisons has shown commitment to sustainability through its recycling initiatives. Glass bottles are recycled, and shoppers are encouraged to adopt environmentally-friendly practices during their visits. However, there is still room for improvement in creating a fully eco-conscious shopping experience.

Final Thoughts and Planning Your Visit

In summary, Morrisons Airdrie offers a unique blend of traditional supermarket elements with a focus on great produce and community values. While there are areas that need addressing, such as pricing and food quality, the supermarket remains a solid choice for those seeking variety in their shopping experience. Whether you're planning a quick visit or a weekly shop, Morrisons provides essential service options that cater to a diverse customer base.

I would rate this establishment with 4 stars, as I only stopped by to grab some engine oil and didn't get to explore the rest of the store. The staff was incredibly helpful, polite, and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

I was denied access to buy some beer because I didn't have my ID on me. This has happened to me three times now, always when I'm exhausted after a long day at work. I'm 31 years old for Pete's sake, I don't look like a teenager anymore! I think I'll need to find a new place to do my shopping, perhaps Tesco will be more understanding.
Bobby Cooper (16/05/2025, 12:17):
Outstanding selection of food and wine, I must say. Their home range is quite lovely, and they offer the freshest flowers around. The customer service is truly top-notch here. I also appreciate their quality kids' clothing section.
Catherine Gutierrez (14/05/2025, 22:23):
The number of staff on the shop floor seems to be decreasing, with fewer employees being seen around. It's becoming increasingly challenging to find a trolley at the front of the store as no one seems to be collecting them from the trolley points like before, which may explain the disappearance of at least one staff member.

The variety of items on the shelves is dwindling, with more of Morrisons' own labels replacing many products. Their More point system doesn't seem as effective as other stores', and it appears that Tesco and Asda are offering better stock levels and a more rewarding loyalty program. Meanwhile, Aldi and Lidl offer superior quality at better prices.

As a result, I've significantly reduced my weekly shopping at Morrisons.
Karen Sanders (13/05/2025, 06:43):
My bloke handed me a voucher to cash in, and the rather unhelpful lass at the checkout with a face as long as a wet week seemed to enjoy telling me I couldn't use it without a card. So, I turned to the older couple behind me and said, "Here, take this £5 off your groceries." They appeared quite grateful, I must say. But then the checkout woman bellowed that they couldn't use it either! I've had a voucher from there before and I don't have a card, so how could I have redeemed it then? It wouldn't have any store card info on it, would it? Vouchers should be honored regardless, in my opinion.
Grace Martinez (11/05/2025, 10:46):
Now ye need another store card to dodge those pesky high prices, been frequenting this place for donkey's years. This visit was me final one. The whole notion is utter poppycock.
Robert Cooper (07/05/2025, 14:54):
I absolutely adore Market Street, and your cooked chicken counter is simply the best and most delicious ever! I must say, your clothing selection has vastly improved and offers great value. Thank you kindly! I always eagerly anticipate my shopping trips to Morrisons.
Paul Morales (06/05/2025, 09:06):
I just had breakfast at the cafe, and the lady working the till and serving breakfast was a real asset to the store. It was my first time there, and we will definitely be back. The breakfast was fantastic!
Nicholas Collins (04/05/2025, 04:36):
Absolutely scandalous! The staff, the store, everything!
Doris Ramirez (02/05/2025, 16:40):
The only problem I have when shopping here is that at the self-service checkouts, it can feel like an eternity waiting for authorization for age-restricted items, especially when it's busy. Other than that, yeah... Morrisons is a pretty decent store.
David Carter (29/04/2025, 14:13):
The shop was quite bustling and had some amazing deals on Christmas food, marked down by a whopping 75% because of some coding mishaps. Everything was fresh and could easily be frozen, much to the delight of many cheerful Christmas shoppers. 😊...
Austin Johnson (29/04/2025, 04:10):
What a splendid spot for some shopping!
Pamela Ford (27/04/2025, 02:20):
Just like most Morrison stores, Supermarket offers a wide array of food options, clothing selections, and a delightful deli section. The homeware items are reasonably priced, and you can also find additional services like a dry cleaner and key cutting service in-store.
