Morrisons Airdrie: A Comprehensive Overview of Offerings and Amenities

Morrisons in Airdrie stands out as one of the few supermarkets in the area that still offers a traditional deli and butcher/fish counter. However, while the offerings are commendable, customers have noted an increase in prices—sometimes up to 25% higher than competitors like Tesco and Asda.

Great Produce and Shopping Experience

Despite pricing concerns, many patrons praise the great produce available at Morrisons. The store features a spacious fruit and vegetable section and a diverse range of other groceries. Shoppers appreciate the cleanliness and organization within the store, making it easier for a quick visit.

Accessibility and Amenities

Morrisons is designed with accessibility in mind, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, wheelchair-accessible car park, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. This ensures that all customers can navigate the supermarket comfortably. Additionally, the layout of the aisles allows for easy movement, although some shoppers have noted that busy times can make navigation challenging.

Payment Options and Service

The store accommodates various payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility makes transactions convenient for all customers. There are also options for in-store pick-up and no-contact delivery, catering to the changing needs of today's shoppers.

Community and Inclusivity

Morrisons Airdrie has made strides in being a transgender safe space and LGBTQ+ friendly. This commitment to inclusivity helps foster a welcoming environment for all customers. Nonetheless, some staff interactions have raised concerns about customer service and attentiveness, suggesting a need for ongoing training for employees.

Food Quality and Safety Concerns

While the selection is generally praised, there have been reports of expired products on shelves, leading to customer frustration. Shoppers have urged the management to improve their stock checking, especially for items such as sandwiches and ready meals. Ensuring food quality is vital to maintaining customer trust.

Dining Experience at the Café

The café within Morrisons has received mixed reviews. Some customers have enjoyed the affordable meals, like the afternoon tea special, while others have reported issues with cleanliness and food quality. Brenda, a member of the café staff, has been highlighted positively for her exceptional service, demonstrating how good staff can enhance the dining experience.

Recycling and Eco-Friendliness

Morrisons has shown commitment to sustainability through its recycling initiatives. Glass bottles are recycled, and shoppers are encouraged to adopt environmentally-friendly practices during their visits. However, there is still room for improvement in creating a fully eco-conscious shopping experience.

Final Thoughts and Planning Your Visit

In summary, Morrisons Airdrie offers a unique blend of traditional supermarket elements with a focus on great produce and community values. While there are areas that need addressing, such as pricing and food quality, the supermarket remains a solid choice for those seeking variety in their shopping experience. Whether you're planning a quick visit or a weekly shop, Morrisons provides essential service options that cater to a diverse customer base.

The store is quite fine, but the cafe isn't as pleasant as it used to be. It was much better before the refurbishment. Overall, a top spot for budget-friendly shopping.
Christopher Scott (30/08/2025, 08:53):
Great variety of fresh produce, particularly impressed by the fruit and veg section which looks very inviting and spacious. Currently, there are some excellent deals on seasonal items. The aisles were well-stocked and it was easy to find everything we needed. While not the most budget-friendly supermarket, the quality and freshness of the food, along with the wide range of options, make it worth the price.
Donald Morales (29/08/2025, 17:46):
I always come across packs of meat that are off, especially the bacon. They never seem to have what I need in stock. I've decided to switch over to Aldis since it's just across the road and they offer much better quality food.
Philip Reyes (29/08/2025, 05:42):
Queued for breakfast at 9:30. After 10 minutes, a lady came down to inform us it will be another 10 minutes before we can have a table. Clearly short-staffed. Ended up going to Tesco and was served right away.
Stephen Edwards (28/08/2025, 05:34):
Absolutely adore this cafe. The staff are always so lovely. The tables are cleaned promptly and thoroughly. The decor is newly done and in a delightful style. The selection and value are truly unparalleled.
Richard Gonzales (27/08/2025, 12:29):
Superb selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, and dairy at this supermarket, along with a variety of non-essential items like alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Plenty of other household essentials and canned goods available as well.

The store is wheelchair accessible with wide aisles and clean restrooms. Shopping carts are free to use and no coins are needed. Customers can choose between self-checkout or traditional cashier lanes, all staff are friendly and helpful.

I previously left a positive review for the restaurant within the store, it's truly top-notch. Morrison's deserves high praise for their overall excellent offerings.
Harper Price (27/08/2025, 04:11):
This situation is a proper mess. They're refurbishing the place, so there's stuff all over the shop. The standard of food is really taking a nosedive. The ready meals have no flavor and are in short supply. The bakers at this establishment really need to up their game. Cakes and pies are often undercooked and soggy. The cherry and apple pies have been skimping on the filling so much that they're lacking in taste. I get that times are tough, but raising prices while reducing portion sizes isn't the way to go.
Carolyn Smith (27/08/2025, 03:17):
This store is quite spotless and neatly organized. Everything you might need for your shopping list is easily accessible. The arrangement of products remains consistent, making it simple to find what you're looking for in each aisle. Additionally, the store includes a café, dry cleaning services, shoe repair, and watch repair. Overall, it's a fantastic place to stock up on groceries each week.
Rose Alexander (26/08/2025, 20:06):
During the pandemic, the staff and store were absolutely brilliant. There were sanitizer stations everywhere, and they had a one-in-one-out process in place. It really comes down to customers using common sense and not getting too close to others. I wouldn't consider shopping anywhere else for a big grocery run.
Brenda Ross (23/08/2025, 15:22):
I purchased a ham and Emmental cheese baguette today, and it was quite disappointing. It was incredibly dry with no butter or mayo, just ham and cheese! I wouldn't recommend getting this as you'll end up paying extra for a drink to wash it down. Not a great display from Morrisons, I must say.
Noah Jackson (21/08/2025, 14:44):
Great dates on fresh meats, unlike some of the other supermarkets out there.
Helen Cruz (21/08/2025, 05:38):
Morrisons may be a tad pricier than Asda and Tesco, but it never fails to offer something unique. If you're unsure about dinner, a stroll through Morrisons will always lead you to something deliciously unconventional and tasty.
Kathryn Walker (17/08/2025, 00:20):
I had a jolly good time at Morrisons Airdrie, I must say! The chaps there were ever so helpful, but upon returning home, I found meself a tad overcharged for an item. Nonetheless, I had a delightful lunch and cuppa with me sister. Upon telephoning Morrisons to address the issue, they promptly apologized and refunded me dosh once we popped back in the shop. Top-notch customer service, I must say! Jolly well done, Morrisons.
Jeffrey Hernandez (15/08/2025, 15:32):
I recently stopped in for breakfast at this establishment, and it was quite disappointing. The sausage seemed undercooked and had an unpleasant texture, while the bacon was mostly fat. Additionally, the mushrooms were served cold. Overall, not a great experience.
Beverly Kim (12/08/2025, 00:41):
Morrisons may be a tad distant from our place, but every now and then, the missus and I make the journey in search of something a bit out of the ordinary! Not talking about ink fried octopus or fancy food that only 'some' people might enjoy, mind you.
We quite enjoyed their 2-minute Mexican rice, and just the other day we snagged some Ben and Jerry's for a steal at 75p per tub...
The Airdrie branch is always a good shout if you're up for a wee drive from Cumbernauld.
Justin Turner (11/08/2025, 03:54):
Too pricey, no checkouts open and now you gotta have a shopping receipt to leave. Friday at 3pm and only two tills working. No improvements and to make matters worse, the new cigarette and lottery section has a sign that flashes way too bright, particularly for folks with photosensitive epilepsy. I reckon I'll be taking my business somewhere else from now on.
Larry Ross (10/08/2025, 00:38):
The shop is fine, but I must say Morrisons keeps shrinking the size of products without lowering the prices. It's absurd that they have only two tills open when there are long queues forming. Sort it out, you go in for a quick shop and end up spending 40 minutes in there because the tills aren't being manned properly.
Andrew Russell (09/08/2025, 06:27):
Ordered two meals, one for me and the other for my husband. Both arrived cold, and some items were even burnt. Quite displeased with the experience. To top it off, we were not provided with any forks, so we had to wait even longer for them to be brought to our table.
Debra Alexander (07/08/2025, 08:20):
This supermarket is brilliant with its butcher and fishmonger sections. The staff are so friendly and always willing to help. They have a fantastic range of wines and even offer an NHS discount. It's just perfect! And the parking facilities are great too.
Rose Reynolds (05/08/2025, 11:57):
I had a great experience at the dry cleaners! I got a suit and two waistcoats cleaned for only 20 quid. The attendant was really friendly and went above and beyond to try to remove a stubborn stain. The service was super quick, with everything ready in just 24 hours. Highly recommend it!
