Convenient Service Options

Asda provides various service options for shoppers, including delivery services, click and collect, and no-contact delivery. Customers appreciate the flexibility these services offer when planning their shopping trips. For a quick visit, patrons can also take advantage of the self-service checkouts that help expedite the payment process. However, some customers have voiced concerns about the staffing levels at these checkouts, especially during busy times, leading to longer wait times.

Accessibility and Amenities

The store features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, making it easier for individuals with disabilities to navigate the premises. There is also ample free parking available, including free of charge street parking for those who prefer not to use the designated lots.

Quality of Produce and Merchandise

At Asda, shoppers can find great produce and a variety of food items, complemented by an assortment of clothing and household goods. Nonetheless, customers have pointed out inconsistencies in stock availability, particularly for specific items such as gluten-free products, which has raised questions about stock management and rotation within the store.

Customer Feedback and Experiences

While many customers have praised the staff for being helpful and friendly, there are notable criticisms concerning cleanliness and customer service within the store. Reports of unkempt restrooms and rude interactions with staff have surfaced, prompting suggestions for improved management oversight. One customer recounted a negative experience in the ladies' toilet, highlighting the need for more frequent cleanliness checks. Conversely, positive experiences are also shared. Shoppers have expressed appreciation for staff members who go above and beyond to assist, enhancing the overall shopping experience.

The Overall Atmosphere and Future Improvements

The general consensus on the atmosphere at Asda Alloa is mixed, with some expressing dissatisfaction over the store's organization and cleanliness. Many believe that poor management contributes to the chaotic environment, with suggestions for better-trained staff to handle customer interactions more professionally. I had the most dreadful experience at this supermarket. I will certainly not be returning.
Sarah Davis (27/07/2025, 20:56):
I absolutely adore Asda, I pop in there regularly for my grocery needs. However, I must confess that I was slightly disheartened during my last visit when I bit into a mini sausage roll and discovered an unexpected piece of cardboard. Despite this unfortunate incident, I will continue to purchase certain items from Asda as I find the store to be excellent overall. I might just be a tad more cautious with my freezer selections in the future.

Horrible shop, only 2 checkouts open and the self-checkouts have no bags nearby. The staff member responsible for the self-checkouts carries the bags with her, so if she's helping someone in another area, you're stuck waiting or trying to juggle your shopping to the car. Dreadful experience!
Joseph Martin (25/07/2025, 22:49):
A quintessential big-box retailer, abundantly supplied with a wide array of products.
Judy Walker (25/07/2025, 14:30):
The staff at this supermarket are simply marvelous, I must say. They are always so welcoming and helpful, never making you feel hurried or like you're in the way. The selection of products and prices are top-notch. My only qualm would be that there seems to be a shortage of staff in the self-scan area, with all the tills flashing for assistance and only one person slowly making their way around them. It can be a bit bothersome if you're in a rush. And why do they hold the bags hostage, I wonder? This is the most irritating aspect for me, especially when I have my baby with me in the trolley and have to leave him to go find a staff member and request a bag. When I forget to bring my own bags, I now prefer going to a checkout with a cashier for this reason. But truth be told, I don't really mind because the staff at the checkouts are usually quite talkative and friendly.

The supermarket is fine, but the parking situation for disabled folk leaves a lot to be desired.
Gabriel Richardson (20/07/2025, 13:32):
The staff at this establishment were incredibly amiable and accommodating.
Ruth Brooks (14/07/2025, 11:03):
There was a good amount of room to roam around, the store was clean and well-lit. The prices were alright, although some items could be found for less at other places. The lady at the checkout was incredibly kind and helpful.
Amy Evans (13/07/2025, 20:28):
A delightful brunch with flavors that are simply delectable...
Ruth Kim (13/07/2025, 06:13):
This supermarket is absolutely brilliant, with a vast selection of products at incredibly competitive prices that cater to every household's needs. The staff are lovely, friendly, and always willing to assist you with a warm welcome. I would highly recommend this place.

The Asda in Alloa really ought to consider cranking up the heating - the shop is absolutely freezing! And while they're at it, they should brighten things up a bit with some more lights, it's like a dark cave in there. It's high time they got their act together, customers shouldn't have to shiver their way through their shopping trip!
Megan Jackson (12/07/2025, 14:02):
The supermarket was practically deserted. A strong scent of authoritarianism hung in the air within the barren aisles, yet customers were being directed on where to wait. I obediently made my way to the end of the line (more akin to exile) and then realized I needed cigarette papers. I had to inform the cashier of my errand, and she proceeded to loudly announce in front of the sparse crowd of shoppers (around 20 in total) that I would not be permitted to purchase 1 bottle of whiskey, two packets of savory snacks, and two Christmas cards at the checkout. I ended up using the self-checkout but managed to "escape" Colditz with my Christmas gifts paid for. I have been a loyal Asda customer all my life, but I will never set foot in there again. Absolutely appalling. It seems that not only is politics veering towards the right, but even your everyday store employee is reveling in the authority bestowed upon them. I have never felt so violated in my rights as a citizen of this country before.
Kelly Reed (11/07/2025, 04:35):
I popped into the supermarket today and I must say, the staff at the checkout were quite ignorant and dismissive of the long queue forming in front of them. Instead of focusing on their job, they seemed more interested in chatting about their colleague's upcoming trip to Florida. There were a total of 5 colleagues working, yet none of them seemed to be paying attention to the customers. I'm not implying that all the staff are like this, as there are some polite individuals there, but I would recommend steering clear of the checkout lassies who seem to prefer gossiping amongst themselves rather than serving customers.
Charles Wright (09/07/2025, 17:11):
Stopped by for a few items and oh my goodness, this store is a complete mess! Staff milling about while boxes clutter the aisles, carts scattered outside, shelves in disarray, lots of work to be done and some lazy folks leaving it to the few diligent workers. Management needs to get their act together and straighten things out!
Alice Collins (08/07/2025, 15:44):
The store is decent, but the café is absolutely dreadful.
Carl Kelly (08/07/2025, 06:15):
What a palaver at the checkouts today! No human-operated tills available, just those self-service machines. It took ages to scan through my small shopping (usually only use the self-service for a couple of items). The queue was getting longer, so I felt pressured and later realized I forgot to scan my app. Went to customer service with the receipt, but was told it was too late to scan the app. Disappointed that we may not frequent Asda as much in the future as my husband detests self-service and finds them tricky to use.
Frank Ward (06/07/2025, 21:07):
I do my shopping at Asda and I have to say, it's a right friendly place. But one time, me and the missus popped in looking for some boxes for our big house move. And wouldn't you know it, along comes this employee — turns out her name's Phoebe — and she tells us she'll set some boxes aside for us to pick up in the morning. So, the next day, I swing by and there's a good 20 boxes waiting for us. Asda really ought to give Phoebe a raise, she's a star.
Jennifer Howard (06/07/2025, 20:51):
The parking was spot on, mate, but the layout inside the shop was all over the place.
Julia Myers (06/07/2025, 20:35):
Supermarket Specialist:

Absolutely brilliant Superstore, I would fancy a quick visit to the loo! 🚻
Samuel Flores (06/07/2025, 07:26):
Just finished having a bite at the cafe. The staff were absolutely lovely and very accommodating. I happen to have Autism, and they handled everything brilliantly. I truly believe they deserve a raise. 😊
