Exploring Asda Robroyston Superstore in Glasgow

Asda Robroyston is a prominent supermarket located in Glasgow, recognized for its extensive offerings from groceries to household goods. However, customer experiences vary significantly, highlighting both advantages and areas for improvement.

Accessibility and Parking

At Asda Robroyston, free of charge street parking is available, making it convenient for shoppers. The store features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, which are essential for customers with mobility issues. Unfortunately, several reviews indicate that finding available spots, especially for disabled parking, can be challenging, as some able-bodied individuals improperly utilize these spaces.

Shopping Experience

While many appreciate the large premises, customers have noted that the store often appears understocked. Several reviews mentioned shelves resembling “three days after a nuclear apocalypse,” particularly in the produce area, where items like fruits and vegetables tend to spoil quickly. Customers seeking specific products, such as beef mince, frequently find them unavailable, leading to disappointment.

Convenient Service Options

Asda offers various service options, including in-store pick-up and no-contact delivery, which many find beneficial. However, the Click and Collect experience has received mixed feedback due to inefficiencies in notification systems and long wait times for orders. In addition, contactless payment options like NFC mobile payments and acceptance of credit and debit cards streamline the checkout process. However, customers often report long queues at traditional checkouts, which can take up to 20 minutes during peak hours.

Recycling and Environmentally Friendly Initiatives

Asda is committed to sustainability, encouraging customers to recycle plastic bags and use glass bottles. Recycling stations and initiatives help promote environmentally friendly practices within the community. Nevertheless, some reviews have pointed out concerns regarding the presence of empty packaging on shelves, raising questions about overall store management.

Customer Service and Staff Interaction

Many visitors highlighted the helpfulness of staff members, with specific individuals receiving commendations for outstanding service. In contrast, there were reports of rude interactions and inadequate responses, particularly concerning customer complaints. Ensuring consistent training for staff could enhance the shopping experience significantly.

Pharmacy Services

Asda Robroyston also houses a pharmacy that has been noted for its helpful staff, particularly in urgent situations. However, there are complaints about limited operating hours, which can frustrate customers who rely on these services during weekends.

Final Thoughts

In summary, Asda Robroyston Superstore provides a great variety of offerings, including a pharmacy and a wide selection of food products. While the parking and accessibility features are commendable, ongoing issues with stock availability and customer service can deter shoppers. For those considering a quick visit, it may be wise to plan ahead, especially during peak times. With some improvements, Asda Robroyston has the potential to enhance its reputation and become a leading supermarket choice in Glasgow.

The day my alarm went rogue!!
I just wanted to give a shoutout to James, my delivery driver from Robroyston. I missed his first visit this morning due to my alarm malfunctioning.
After 2 calls, he showed up with a smile, as friendly as ever. He really went above and beyond this morning. Thank you so much!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I am here at this moment, and it's quite pleasing to observe that everyone is adhering to the guidance. However, during a family outing with four individuals – ma, pa, and the two little ones – in the queue, as well as young couples, it seems some individuals are not comprehending the situation. Even your security personnel should enforce one individual per shopping cart.
Justin White (05/08/2025, 19:35):
This store is absolutely spotless and well-organized! The staff are quite helpful, and they have a fantastic selection of clothing and accessories for men and women. The layout is top-notch, with clear signage and fully stocked aisles.

I have been a loyal customer at this supermarket for years, but today I had a rather interesting encounter with a security guard who seemed to have watched too many RoboCop movies with his spikey hair. While inspecting the use-by date on a pack of salmon, I was accused of tampering with prices by this overzealous guard. Instead of asking for an explanation, I was immediately labeled a thief and banned from the store. Quite absurd, if you ask me! I didn't bother arguing much with the stubborn security guard and just let him keep the salmon. Looks like I won't be having salmon for dinner tonight. Oh well, what a silly situation.

Hey, just wanted to drop a quick note about ASDA. I noticed they're stocking avocados from Israel, a country that's currently caught up in some serious conflict and causing harm to women and children in Gaza. It seems like ASDA's top brass should be tuned in to public sentiments and take those products off the shelves pronto. Cheers!
Brittany Gonzalez (30/07/2025, 04:36):
I must say, I was quite appalled by the service at this establishment tonight. I found myself in a rather distressing situation where two rather rude young ladies were causing quite a commotion on their electric scooters, verbally abusing both shoppers and staff. They even began hurling products at customers! When I mustered up the courage to approach a member of staff for assistance, she simply informed me that her shift had ended and she had no time to help. It is imperative that your staff be trained to handle difficult situations with more grace and efficiency, and it would also be wise to have more personnel on the shop floor as there seemed to be no one around to aid in such incidents.
Betty Perry (27/07/2025, 08:05):
There were no staff at the pets counter and only 2 people on check out. This shop is going downhill quickly.
Chloe Henderson (25/07/2025, 16:04):
This supermarket is absolutely the worst I've visited in terms of Covid precautions since the start of the pandemic. There were obstructions right at the entrance, no one was practicing social distancing whatsoever, staff were wandering around with their noses sticking out of their masks, and there were too many people inside. It appeared as though there was no system in place for keeping track of the number of customers.

I understand that it's difficult to control the public, but restricting the number of people allowed inside would at least benefit those of us who are still concerned about safety.
Sharon Reyes (25/07/2025, 01:18):
Every time I pull up to the supermarket, it seems like the shelves are always bare. The staff inside are not very helpful either - they're always on their phones or chatting with each other, joking and laughing instead of assisting customers. And don't get me started on the delivery service! It's never a complete order, there are always items missing or out of stock. Why can't they offer a substitute for those items? And when they do, they don't even give the customer the option to approve it or not - just drop it off at the doorstep. The expiration dates on fresh products are also terrible. In my last 5 or 6 orders, there have been over 60 substitutes and almost 20 items not available without any substitute options offered. Asda Robroyston is a disaster! I would rate the delivery service 1 star, but honestly, it's more like 0 out of 5 stars.
Justin Flores (21/07/2025, 08:52):
Always a pleasure to stop by. They have a great selection of products and a lovely café. The staff is very kind and helpful.
Janet Howard (19/07/2025, 17:09):
The shop is alright for the most part, but sometimes they run low on stock early on weekends, which is quite odd considering they restock shelves overnight. They've rolled out a new machine to streamline online returns... however, it only functions when staff are available to process returns manually anyway...
Charlotte Price (18/07/2025, 15:00):
What's up with the magnetic floor that suddenly stops the trolleys at Asda?! I've hurt my wrist twice because of it, thanks a lot!
Terry Parker (17/07/2025, 18:47):
I'm absolutely fuming having to write this... Went to the customer service desk for some assistance with Asda rewards, and was simply told to read the information provided. I had already thoroughly gone through it and was just seeking a little guidance. All she said was it would consume my entire day 😡 THANKS!!

Would've been better off waiting to ask at Bishopbriggs, the ladies there are way more welcoming and helpful.
Mark Nguyen (16/07/2025, 12:40):
After 8 pm, one might find a limited supply of tomatoes and cucumbers, a scarce variety of houmous, as well as the absence of gouda or mozzarella cheese at the local Supermarket.
Frank Hamilton (10/07/2025, 12:29):
Conveniently located, can get quite crowded during busy hours. Ample parking available 🅿️ ...
Victoria Gomez (10/07/2025, 08:25):
The customer service at Supermarket is truly top-notch in every department. I must say, the snack bar service is quite impressive, far superior to what you would find at the Kirkintiloch branch of Asda. Kudos to the team for their hard work and dedication!
Kelly Baker (09/07/2025, 16:59):
Usually well stocked and the staff are friendly and helpful.

One downside is that many of the shopping cart return areas have missing or broken coins for unlocking the carts. Today, I had to walk quite a distance through the rain to find a cart bay with a working coin slot. This should be a simple fix, Asda!
Virginia Graham (08/07/2025, 16:10):
I utilized the "Click and Collect" service for pickup at Robroyston. What a complete disaster! Normally, I collect my orders at Bishopbriggs where you simply pull up, scan a barcode, and within minutes someone delivers your shopping to your car. However, at Robroyston... No way! You have to park in the click and collect bay which is situated at the farthest point from the store. To make matters worse, there is no method to signal the staff of your arrival. I had to get all three of my very young children out of the vehicle, trek across the entire car park, and then wait for an available staff member at the kiosk to inform them of my presence. Subsequently, I endured a lengthy wait in-store before finally being escorted back to my car!

This process is highly inconvenient, exacerbated by its location in the most inconvenient section of the car park. Robroyston, you should seriously reconsider offering this "service" unless you can bring it up to the standards of other stores.
Ruth Cooper (08/07/2025, 15:25):
I reckon it'd be a smashing idea to have the trolley cleaning station over at the trolley park rather than at the front entrance, don't you think? That way, folks can give the trolley handles a good scrub before laying their hands on them, instead of waiting in line and holding them for a bit before getting into the store. Just makes sense, doesn't it?
Justin Graham (07/07/2025, 16:10):
Alex, the security guard on duty today after (11/12.05.23 03:15), was truly an incredible staff member who deserves to be commended for exceptional customer service, whether part of the Asda team or security! He went above and beyond, despite not wearing the "Asda uniform," while all other staff members in their "Asda" attire completely ignored me... disrespectful, did not check stock levels, and the list goes on! The only reason I would consider revisiting this Asda store is because of the security guard, Alex! I hope he receives the recognition he deserves for his outstanding customer service, interactions, and going the extra mile.
