In-store Shopping at Marks & Spencer Glasgow

Highlights of the Store

The store features a variety of great produce, including fresh bakery items and pre-packaged meals. However, recent customer feedback suggests that while the layout is efficient, the service can be inconsistent. For instance, some patrons experienced delays and issues with food availability in the café during peak times.

Food Hall: Always well-stocked with high-quality food options, open until 10 PM.

Dining Experience

While the café on-site has garnered mixed reviews, many customers agree that it is a great place for a quick visit. However, cleanliness and food availability have been concerns, with some reports of dirty tables and long wait times. In contrast, feedback on the food quality remains largely positive, especially regarding pastries and beverages.

Payment Methods

Final Thoughts

The staff at this supermarket are top notch, mate! They've got a cracking selection of clobber and that. Kirsty and Jenny went above and beyond to help me and the missus with sorting out some bother with the M&S App. Cheers, Kenny & Moira Small

This establishment is truly exceptional, offering top-notch cuisine in the UK.

Ah, the classic M&S experience. A wonderful array of clothing and food options, albeit a tad pricier than your neighborhood spots, but hey, you get what you pay for - quality. The staff are usually quite accommodating too.

DISGUSTING SERVICE!

I popped into this establishment for a quick sandwich and decided to pick up the prawn cocktail, which they boldly claim is M&S's finest. After taking a bite, I immediately noticed that the bread was stale. Upon checking the best before date, I realized it had expired today. I returned to the self-service area where I had made my purchase, trying to catch the attention of a staff member named Lesley, who was preoccupied with reading the Daily Mail (a sign of things to come, mind you).

After finally getting her attention, I explained the situation. She dismissively took the sandwich from me, inspected it with her finger, and in a tone dripping with sarcasm, assured me that it was perfectly fine! I was taken aback and insisted that I was not lying. To my disbelief, she then proceeded to give me an insolent once-over and declared that she would need to consult the manager. Her rudeness was utterly appalling! There was no apology, just sheer contempt!

Eventually, I managed to obtain a refund, although at first, they hesitated due to my lack of a receipt. I had chosen not to take one to save paper, and I had to argue my case with them on this matter as well. They eventually retrieved the transaction from the register, but the whole process was a farce.

My advice is to steer clear of this establishment and especially their stale offerings - it's no surprise that M&S is on a downward spiral...

...AND KEEP AWAY FROM LESLEY, THE AWFUL DAILY MAIL READER!!!

My experience at this store was top-notch. It was peaceful, yet the store was stunning. It was neat, organized, well-stocked with the latest summer collection, which this year appears fantastic compared to the past couple of years. The staff were wonderful, and as a few customers approached the checkout area, so did the staff, ensuring no waiting time. The food section was equally impressive. Overall, a fantastic shopping experience. Thank you.

I went to the café today, and it was quite the disappointment. No plates available, can you believe it? And the butter was missing too! I had to wait a good 10 minutes because all the plates were in the dishwasher. The display for cakes and scones looked like it hadn't been tidied up in ages. And to top it off, there were long queues just to get a pot of tea, with the staff seeming rather indifferent. It was all just very sloppy, if you ask me. I wonder if they even have a café manager, because they definitely need one as soon as possible.

Just popped into The Fort cafe today. Found myself knee-deep in crumbs and food debris left behind by previous patrons at this very table. One wonders if the staff are taught to not only wipe down the table but to also sweep the floor underneath. They are promoting a Special Afternoon Tea, but how can it be considered special if the space isn't kept clean? Makes one ponder, doesn't it, Managers? It would be much appreciated to receive a response as well! Cheers.

Just left this shop after doing some food shopping, I have been shopping here for years, and that is the first time I have come across someone on the checkout as ignorant as the guy on the checkout, no "Good morning," not one bit pleasant. So, I ask for my Marks card, this guy shouldn't be working at a checkout. Also, his friend, the Manager, was as bad, very poor service for Marks.
Stephen Sanders (02/06/2025, 10:26):
I frequently visit this supermarket and must say the staff truly deserve recognition. On a few occasions when I required assistance, I interacted with a young lady named Megan who is a true gem of the store. She is consistently cheerful, accommodating, and willing to go above and beyond to aid me in my needs. A delightful individual and a valuable addition to the team at the store.
Deborah King (30/05/2025, 07:30):
If ye have nae sense of taste and are keen on wastin' yer money, then this place is right up yer alley. Their finest dishes are as flavorless and pricey as a sack o' potatoes. The sandwiches are overpriced and skimp on the meat, while the healthy options are loaded with sugar. When it comes to service, they'll acknowledge ye if yer a regular from around here, but if not, yer left to fend for yerself with the self-checkout. The quality of their clothing has taken a hit, yet they've kept the hefty price tags. Cleanliness is also a bit worrisome. Overall, it's a tired old shop that's barely chuggin' along thanks to its loyal local clientele who probably haven't set foot in a proper supermarket. With Morrisons bein' the only other option 'round here, me heart goes out to the local folk and their poor digestive systems. M&S may be a fancy brand, but this store certainly ain't living up to that reputation.
Jennifer Jordan (29/05/2025, 19:07):
The team at Supermarket is always top-notch, the place is spotless and they offer a fantastic selection of products.

The Grocery Department is consistently well-supplied and stays open until 10.

They also have a Currency Exchange office and a Coffee Shop - plenty of options and everything is kept tidy.

Being situated at the far end has its perks too, with a large parking area right outside.
