Visited the Silverburn Glasgow location and made a purchase of a couple of shirts that I am certain will meet my satisfaction. The gentleman at the checkout kindly reminded me to present my Sparks card, which uncovered a 20% discount for me. Appreciative of the excellent level of service and excited to sport my new shirts.

Terrible customer service experience in two departments at the supermarket. Firstly, in the collections department, the staff were casually chatting at the money counter about a trip to London while four of us waited to be served. Another staff member eventually came from the sales floor to assist us, but even when the chatty employee signed onto the system, she deliberately ignored us.
Secondly, in the self-scan area of the food hall, we waited while a staff member ran around the food department and ignored three of us who needed help.

This complete lack of customer care had a nonchalant and uncaring attitude. It's no surprise that I now prefer shopping at Aldi and Lidl, where customers are actually appreciated.

Absolutely adore this shop, and Sarah in the men's department is simply fantastic. I'm planning a major shopping spree on Monday to take advantage of my birthday discount, which I had no idea existed. Cheers to Sarah for the tip!

The food hall has a great range of products to choose from, but the self checkouts could do with a bit more breathing space.
Megan Lopez (07/07/2025, 19:40):
I attempted to inquire about the availability of a product in-store as the website lacks this information, and thus dialed the store's phone number. The telephone system was quite unpleasant, continuously spouting nonsensical messages about checking stock online and issuing stern warnings against being rude to staff. It almost seemed as if they were trying to deter customers! Finally connected to the store's line, I discovered it was a national call center. Upon contacting the actual branch, I learned that their phone lines do not open until 5pm (!). The representative kindly agreed to call me back at 5pm to confirm the product's availability, which is indeed very helpful. I shall patiently await their call.

I have never been a fan of M&S, even at my age of 50+. It seems like their target audience is mostly older folks who dress in boring beige, definitely not my style. This particular location, which I believe is one of their newer stores, is poorly lit and tucked away at the far end of the mall, with a disorganized layout that can be quite confusing for first-time visitors.

After some searching, I managed to locate the food section, although its layout was quite counterintuitive. I made my purchases quickly and left as soon as possible.
Nicole Murphy (03/07/2025, 21:14):
The supermarket always appears so well-kept, the staff are friendly, and they have a great variety of products in stock.
Deborah Price (03/07/2025, 16:27):
Finding what you need is a breeze on this site.
Nancy Gonzales (03/07/2025, 12:29):
This store is fabulous, mate! With several levels to explore, and all the way at the back there's a food section. I absolutely enjoy strolling through there while on the hunt for some trendy threads. 😁 Cheers!
Emily Morales (02/07/2025, 10:32):
Always clean and tidy with staff at all till points. The one downside for me is the placement of the cards range by the entrance, it feels like being on someone's porch. The automatic doors constantly opening with that irritating noise and the wind blowing through... not the most strategic marketing move I've seen from M&S!
Ella Rogers (02/07/2025, 01:22):
I always enjoy strolling through M&S. It's always so pristine and organized. The staff are always bustling about, making sure everything is in its rightful place.

As expected, they have a fantastic selection of clothing, home goods, and housewares, as well as plenty of festive items.

I was there last Sunday around lunchtime and thought we'd grab a sandwich. Sadly, the cafe was really crowded so we reluctantly decided to go somewhere else.
Kathryn White (01/07/2025, 19:55):
Absolutely love shopping at M&S, it's a brand I've grown up with and trust for its great variety and quality products. Recently, I visited the cafe at Silverburn and had a rather embarrassing experience when I was refused to pay with a paper £20 note. Even though I received it from an international exchange as I live overseas, the note is still legal tender until September. Interestingly, I had no issues using the same note to purchase goods in both the clothing and food departments. It's quite perplexing, isn't it? Moreover, it's disappointing that it's becoming harder to find assistance in specific departments. There was no one available to help me get measured for a bra, and overall, it seems like there are more staff focused on taking your money rather than providing customer service. Come on M&S, you're losing the essence that once set you apart from other retailers.
Philip Perry (01/07/2025, 10:53):
Great selection of toasties and coffee at the cafe. The clothing options are plentiful as well. They are very COVID-safe, with plenty of hygiene stations available.
Richard Myers (30/06/2025, 20:12):
A massive thank you to Shona at M&S Silverburn ladies fittings today - she was just so kind and helpful. 5+++++ stars. Many thanks!
James Nguyen (27/06/2025, 16:41):
One can discover exclusive, top-notch goods that are truly one-of-a-kind at this store. While the cost may be a tad higher, the durability of the products makes it a worthy investment that will stand the test of time. Having visited numerous high-end stores, I can confidently affirm that M&S sets the standard for quality, innovative design, and commitment to sustainability.
Kathleen Nelson (24/06/2025, 23:46):
No shopping this day, just a quick pop into a cafe with a mate for some brunch. It was quite bustling, but surprisingly, the service was top-notch. You pick your choices and settle up at the main till where there's a bit of a queue. They hand you a stand with your order number to place on your chosen table, and the staff bring your grub over. Today, we indulged in some link sausage Ciabattas and pots of tea. I do apologize for not snapping a pic of the delicious food.

The cafe is located on the upper level, accessed by an escalator, and offers a wide range of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, including a fab menu for the little ones. As mentioned before, the service was exceptional. The vibe was a tad chaotic, but still a jolly good time. Cheers! 🤗
Teresa Nelson (22/06/2025, 12:47):
The M&S standards were exactly what one would expect. The lovely travel money lady was extremely helpful and friendly. I appreciate her efforts in finding my Mexican Banknote for me 😁...
Joe Lopez (22/06/2025, 02:07):
The cafés on both floors are absolutely brilliant. The coffee is top-notch and the staff are so friendly and efficient. They really go above and beyond to provide excellent service. Actually, all the employees at this store are incredibly helpful and polite.
Kelly Peterson (21/06/2025, 16:16):
The staff is quite welcoming. The assortment of food is top-notch with some great deals. The currency converter feature is particularly handy for planning ahead of holidays and post-holiday shopping.
Nicholas Garcia (21/06/2025, 00:34):
I popped into the supermarket cafe for a spot of lunch and ordered one turkey ham hock toastie, two coffees, and two jam and cream scones. The scones arrived promptly, but we had to wait quite some time for the toastie to be delivered to our table. After a while, we realized our coffees had gone cold, so we had to trek back to the counter. They kindly made us fresh ones, but the whole ordeal put a bit of a damper on our dining experience. I'm unsure whether I'll give them another chance in the future.
